“I really like the low stress aspects of this industry, and since I also like working with people, finding ways to help my clients feel better and reduce their stress seemed like the perfect solution for combining what I was looking for with my desire to help others.”

Soft spoken, Veronica exudes a sense of calm that soothes her clients from the moment she greets them. Her gentle yet effective touch has earned her the nickname ‘Magic Hands”.

Having spent time in other locations, she says she was drawn to Elements because of its clean, simple elegance and the close-knit team. “Everyone almost intuitively supports each other, working in synch where it’s almost like a dance,” she says.

Some day, Veronica would like to teach her craft. She has already had considerable experience as a trainer in past positions and has a unique talent for breaking things down so others can understand and grasp them. Her positive outlook encourages those she mentors. “A positive mindset facilitates positive energy, a positive outlook and positive results. For me, it’s mind over matter.”

In a contrast of opposites, Veronica’s alter ego channels Amazon Warrior as opposed to Soothing Healer. For the past 5 years, she has been part of the local Roller Derby league, currently skating on the ‘A’ team for the Cinderollas. A sport that had almost completely died by the late 1970’s, it has made a significant comeback in recent years and is even making a bid to become the newest sport in the 2020 Olympics.

While a bit surprised to find she had enough inner aggression to draw on, she really appreciates the sense of community surrounding the sport. Her team regularly donates a portion of their proceeds to help support local non-profits like Meals on Wheels, Animal Rescue and women’s shelters. Personalizing that sense of community and giving, she and her team also regularly volunteer their time proving it’s not that far from what led her to massage after all.

Born and raised in Sonoma County, Shalice is truly a West County gal. With over ten years experience, she has followed her passions into a career that lets her combine the two things she loves most – art and people.

Having trained at the Healing Arts Institute in Sacramento, Zenzi Beauty College in San Francisco and Calistoga Massage Therapy in Santa Rosa, she is a master nail tech and a fabulous massage therapist.

“Massage is a form of art – like a dance – it’s a hands-on art, the art of healing. And doing nails is just using a different canvas for creating something beautiful.”

Drawn to the beauty industry as a teenager, she wanted to become a make-up artist. Before applying for a scholarship, she felt she should make sure it was really what she wanted. The first step was working the front desk at a spa, learning the industry from the inside. It confirmed for her that she was on the right path.

After receiving her scholarship and completing her training, she worked in a variety of environments, from small boutiques to large corporate spas, but prefers the more personal, intimate nature of small spas where she can really get to know her clients.

Gentle but assertive, strong yet soothing, Shalice loves to ‘nurture the un-nurtured’ – busy clients who work hard and don’t always get the opportunity to do a lot for themselves. “Being able to give them a short respite from their busy lives brings me a lot of joy.” Shalice refers to this as ‘positive intention’, both the work she does and the art of ‘just listening’ in an effort to make their lives a little better in the hour or so she spends with them. There’s a personal reward in this as well. “Massage is the only thing in my life that shuts me off – it’s like a form of meditation. It’s a blank space where it’s as healing for me as it is for my clients.”

Shalice continues to hone her craft with a passionate dedication to continued education. In this way, she can combine the best techniques with personalized treatments that are tailored to the specific needs of each and every client.

While her work is a ‘critical part of who I am’, Shalice finds her own peace in the great outdoors. And when the ocean, river or mountains are a bit too far away for the time at hand, there’s always retail therapy. “I love to shop and I love fashion. My favorites? Shoes and jewelry!”

The reason these deals are only offered to new clients is because of the drastic discount. Not only are we offering services for at least half off, the third party vender is also taking half of the remaining balance, leaving very little, if any, profit to our spa. With the limited proceeds, we must cover the therapist’s wages, products and materials, which in some cases leaves no profit for our business.

You may ask why on earth we would do such a thing. Well, this type of marketing guarantees new customers will come into our business, and as far as marketing goes, it is more affordable and effective than any other marketing program.

If you see a deal online, simply call us during the promotional period and BOOK YOUR TREATMENTS DIRECTLY WITH US. The terms of the online promotion will remain the same.
