Alyssa Burgo is one of our fabulous estheticians. Approachable and empathetic, Alyssa has an innate talent for relating on a personal level to her clients. Whether you are in her treatment room only once, or are one of her regulars, she has a way of making her clients feel not only comfortable, but also instills a sense of confidence in them that they will emerge with improved skin and a sense of well-being.
Alyssa is a local gal, raised in Windsor. She attended Southern Oregon University, in Ashland, studying fine art; however she began to question what kind of real life application that degree would have for her. Remembering her keen interest in skin care, she returned home and enrolled in Lytle’s Beauty College, taking an intensive approach to fast track the esthetician course and complete it in just 4 ½ months.
While still in her late teens / early twenties, Alyssa started having difficulty with acne. This started her on the path to learning about skin care. She became obsessed with learning about products, their ingredients and their effectiveness in treating not only acne but other skin problems as well. With a passion born of an intense desire for helping others, it seemed a natural move to take this passion and turn it into a career when she began to question her original educational choice.
When asked to describe her technique, she says she is thorough but organic. “Sometimes it’s more about feeling the skin and intuiting what it needs,” she says. “Whether it’s extra hydration, more extractions, additional exfoliation to address roughness; I try and personalize the treatment so my clients get exactly what they want and need.” With a touch that ranges from the delicacy of a butterfly to the firmness needed to engage pressure points and instantly relax muscles, Alyssa puts her heart into every treatment.
When not in the treatment room, Alyssa enjoys spending time with family and friends. On any given day off, you might find her sharing a meal with them, going on hikes (she one day hopes to climb / hike Mount Kilimanjaro with her dad), or curling up with a good book. And after a study program abroad (in Italy), she has developed a real love for traveling, as well.
